Betty Ann Stafford, 82, of Newton, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Memorial Services for Betty will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 12th, at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers memorials are being designated in Betty’s name, to the American Heart Association Betty, the daughter of Albert Carl and Minnie V. (Redding) Henning, was born June 5, 1932, in Newton. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1951. She owned and operated a craft business. On Dec. 26, 1961, Betty was united in marriage with Billy Joe Stafford in Newton. A lifetime resident of the Newton area, she devoted her life to her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of the Newton V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries, and of the Lutheran faith. She was a kind and warm hearted lady, who always found the good in everyone. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill on Sept. 21, 2009; brothers: William “Bill”, Harold, Albert “Skip”, Richard “Dick”, Thomas, Ronald, Michael and Mathew; and sisters: Alberta, Mary, Michelle and Sandra Sue. Those left to honor Betty’s memory include her six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Crystal “Chris" Morrow; brothers: Robert “Bob” (Helen) Henning and Jim Henning; sister-in-law, Judy Henning; many nieces and nephews; and her friends.
